Each year, well over 80% of the Chorale's roughly $700,000 in annual expenditures are devoted directly to our mission-driven priorities of artistic and educational programming.
Like nearly all performing arts organizations, earned income from concert performances only covers 30 to 40% of our annual operating expenses. For the Chorale, the main source of earned income is contract fees from our work with the Minnesota Orchestra and other artistic partners. We raise the remaining amount through donations from individuals, our annual gala, and grants from foundations, corporations, and such government sources as the Minnesota State Arts Board and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Individual donors include our own singers and board, who together provide well over half of the amount raised from individuals.
