Timothy Takach

Timothy C. Takach (b. 1978)

Inspired by narrative, magical realism, speculative fiction, and "making better humans through art," the music of Minneapolis-based Timothy C. Takach is a mainstay in the concert world. Applauded for his melodic lines, thoughtful text choices, and rich harmonies, he has received commissions from Roomful of Teeth, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Cantus, VocalEssence, and the U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers' Chorus, among many others. His a cappella choral symphony Helios and The Longest Nights represent the ambitious scope of his choral writing. A co-founder of the vocal ensemble Cantus and co-creator of All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914, Takach is one of the most performed choral composers in America today.
