Hans Zimmer
Hans Zimmer (b. 1957)
Hans Zimmer is one of the most celebrated film composers alive, with scores including The Lion King, Gladiator, Inception, Interstellar, and Dune. His use of choir is a signature element of his sound — soaring wordless vocals, massive choral textures, and evocative vocal percussion appear throughout his work. The Lion King score, in particular, features choral writing that has entered the cultural bloodstream. Like John Williams, his choral presence is felt primarily through film music and arrangements thereof. He has no significant independent concert choral output, but his influence on how audiences hear choral sound is considerable.
