The Chorale's Men in Music program serves middle-school and high-school boys who have shown some interest in singing but may not have the motivation or social support they need to sustain that interest. To meet the needs of this population, the Chorale has recruited a pool of some 50 male vocalists to sing at assemblies and similar settings in schools across the metropolitan area. These men, who perform under the direction of experienced Chorale singer-teachers, rehearse a specially selected repertoire, including several pieces they perform side-by-side with student singers.

An offshoot of the Chorale's long-running Full Voice program, which bolstered public-school music programs by sending Chorale singers into the schools as coaches, conductors, and accompanists, Men in Music exemplifies the Chorale's capacity to identify social problems and to address them musically.
