| Happy Birthday, Amadeus!
As part of this year's St. Paul Winter Carnival, the Minnesota Chorale teamed up with the St. Paul Civic Symphony on Sunday, January 27 for a sing-along presentation of Mozart's setting of the "Requiem." Braving the wintry weather, hundreds of people, young and old, turned out at the Landmark Center in the heart of downtown St. Paul for an afternoon of classical treats. The orchestra, led by its conductor Jeffrey Stirling, started things off with a rousing performance of Mozart's "Posthorn Serenade," followed by the "Requiem," led by Chorale artistic director Kathy Salzmann Romey. Audience members joined their voices with 100+ Chorale singers and soloists, making the hall ring with glorious song. Then, to celebrate Mozart's 257th birthday, it was time for cake! (see photo above)
The afternoon was such a rousing success that we're hoping to make this an annual event: stay tuned for details!
